Musings on Finch— “There was no doubt we were going uncoated for this project and the printing company, Colornet Press, recommended Finch Fine. We felt the samples and never looked back. The value/quality ratio makes Finch the only choice. It holds the color well and is perfect for a self-mailing booklet.”

Where did you find you inspiration for the GRAMMY Museum Education Catalog?

“I found inspiration for the design simply by visiting the Museum. The GRAMMY Museum appeals to all walks of life, but I had to look at it through a kid’s eyes, then through a teacher’s eyes and seek out the educational opportunities. It’s easy to find it fun with all the motion, lighting, interactive panels, and video screens, but more than the eye candy I found stimulation in the activities I got involved with. The catalog reflects that stimulation and the color/movement a student experiences in the Museum, but most importantly, it’s easy to read for the educator. To navigate through the catalog with ease was my number one priority. The size was dictated by mailing standards – I wanted to maximize the size but avoid first-class shipping and the calendar format helps the piece retain shelf life. Rather than another brochure in a stack on the desk, a teacher can hang it and be reminded of all the great classes and workshops offered by the Museum with hopes they will be encouraged to take their classroom on a field trip filled with music education. I love Finch Fine uncoated paper because it holds color well and accepts writing even nicer.”

How did you determine the color scheme?

“The color palette is inspired by the exhibits. The Museum is very colorful because music is colorful.”

Anything else?

“Finch is definitely in the house. The house of Fine.”

Thanks, Brian. You’ve turned our uncoated white paper a new shade of blushing.
