Q: Does Finch manage plantation forests?
A: No, you won’t find Finch foresters in a plantation — or man-made — forest, or growing genetically engineered trees. We pretty much work with what Mother Nature provides as she knows what’s best for the forest. If you look around Finch-managed forests, you’ll find a wide variety of tree species and ages, along with a nice variety of wildlife habitat.

Some forestry philosophies are based on controlling every square foot of the forest. But that’s not our approach. Unlike plantation forests, we don’t plant specific numbers of specific kinds of trees and arrange them just like we want them, like a farmer might plant rows of corn. Finch is more like the homeowner who has a beautiful wildflower patch in their backyard. We cultivate the forest and help it grow like nature intended.
