| Q: | How many trees do you have to plant to create a new forest? |
| A: | We’re fortunate here in the Northeast that our climate and soil conditions usually make tree planting unnecessary. By managing a forest using scientific principles, we can remove some older trees for society’s use before they die AND spur the natural growth of new trees—much like a farmer cultivates his tomato plants, then picks the tomato before it rots and falls from the vine. An added benefit of this natural regeneration is that Finch does not use pesticides or herbicides in the forests we manage. We grow a completely organic crop. |
