A service, not a substrate
Finch delivers the value that serious printers and print buyers need day-in and day-out. We specialize in uncoated papers for digital and traditional printing markets, and often customize tailored substrates for specific applications. Our promise is simple: affordable products, made with environmental integrity, and delivered with the type of personal service you will respect and remember. You might think of Finch as just a paper mill. We’d like you to know us as a service provider.
We’ve succeeded for more than 145 years by continuously improving the way we work.
We innovate at nearly every step of the process—from responsibly forestry, to odor-free pulping, to just-in-time papermaking. Our integrated operations allow us to perfect our processes, lower our costs and make some of the most reliable and sustainable papers on the market.
Our breadth of uncoated papers are designed for today’s multi-press environments and are ideal for corporate marketing materials, direct mail, book publishing, and business office uses. When all’s said and done, the results speak for themselves: commercial printers rate Finch among the best for print quality and on-press dependability.
Feet-in-the-Forest
If there’s anything we’re more passionate about than making paper, it’s sustainable forestry. Our legacy of sustainable forest management began when we hired one of the nation’s first professional foresters in 1910 and continues today with our team of experienced foresters, who practice and teach sustainable forestry in the woods every day.

Our Heritage
Finch Paper is an American manufacturing success story. It began in 1865 when Jeremiah and Daniel Finch, along with Samuel Pruyn went out on a limb and started Finch, Pruyn & Company, turning homegrown logs into highly coveted lumber for a nation rebuilding after the Civil War. Forty years later they turned their attention to papermaking, with a recipe for success that continues to serve us well.
