Our foresters hold degrees in forest management and wildlife management, and maintain Society of American Foresters’ Certified Forester credentials. We are actively involved in a wide range of professional and trade organizations, including the Society of American Foresters, New York Tree Farm, and the Empire State Forest Products Association.
Michael McLarty
RPF, VP Forestry and Wood Procurment
Mr. McLarty oversees Finch Wood Procurement and Fiber Sourcing, and Finch Forest Management. He is a registered professional forester from Northwest Ontario with more than 15 years of experience in the forest industry, and experience in strategic, long-term timber harvest planning, regeneration and silviculture programs. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, with honors, in forestry from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, in 1999. Mr. McLarty is a board member and Immediate Past Chair of the Empire State Forest Products Association, and sits on Paul Smith’s College School of Natural Resource Management and Ecology Dean’s Leadership Council.
Amber Madison
Woodland’s Accountant
Ms. Madison joined Finch Paper LLC in 2018 as Finch’s Woodland Accountant. She provides accounting support to Finch Forest Management which includes timber harvesting operations, forest product sales, FSC and SFI Forest Certification programs, and our recreational leasing program. This includes weekly and monthly payments to landowners, haulers, and contractors. Also, she is responsible for invoicing landowners and recreational lessees, landowner severance taxes, and the FSC and SFI credit accounts. Amber is a Queensbury High School graduate and received an Associate Degree in Business Administration from State University of New York (SUNY Adirondack) in 2015.
Rebecca McBride
Field Forester
Ms. McBride is a Field Forester for Finch Forest Management, joining the Finch Forest Management team in 2023. She is responsible for helping to plan, set-up and supervise timber harvesting operations; achieving and maintaining FSC & SFI Forest Management Certification on certified properties; and working with the recreational leasing program. Rebecca earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Forest Resource Management from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF) in 2022. She is originally from Washington State and moved to New York to attend SUNY ESF. She is pursuing her Candidate Certified Forester certification through the Society of American Foresters. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, reading, kayaking, snowshoeing and attending local community events.
Leonard Cronin
CF, Regional Forest Manager
Mr. Cronin manages the Finch Forest Management Department and its staff of professional foresters. He joined Finch in 1986 as a District Forester, and has held positions as Area Forester, Forest Supervisor and Forest Operations Manager. Leonard earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forest Management from the University of Vermont (UVM) School of Natural Resources in 1981, after earning his Associate in Applied Science Degree in Pre-Professional Forestry from Paul Smith’s College in upstate New York. He is a Society of American Foresters “Forester of the Year” award in 2017 and the Society of American Foresters District Six (New England & New York) “Presidential Field Forester” award in 2019.
Justin Saville
CF, Field Forester
Mr. Saville is a Field Forester with Finch Forest Management. He is responsible for helping to plan, set-up and supervise timber harvesting operations; achieving and maintaining FSC & SFI Forest Management Certification on certified properties; and landowner outreach. He is a certified Tree Farm inspector through the American Tree Farm System and became a Society of American Foresters Certified Forester in 2022. Mr. Saville joined the Finch Forest Management team in 2016 after earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forest Operations and Ecological Forest Management from Paul Smith’s College in upstate New York.
